The first night of my recent adventure in Olympic National Park we camped on the beach near Strawberry Point. The coast there is so wild and beautiful! Big trees come right down to the shore. Sea stacks form amazing shapes offshore. The beach is covered with amazing tidal debris from dozens of massive driftwood logs to the dried remains of millions of small jellyfish. The day had mostly been overcast, but as evening approached a gap developed in the west. Perfect!
Knowing I would have a short burst of magic light, I scouted a number of locations near camp and prepared my equipment to work very fast. When the sun burst through, I used my new favorite panoramic equipment combination to create this ultra-high resolution panoramic merger: my Nikon D810, Zeiss 35mm F2, and Sachtler FSB-6 fluid head. I hope you enjoy this video of the result.
