Portland, Oregon
September 21st-24th, 2018 (4th day optional the 25th)
Join me for this 3 or 4 day hometown workshop to explore Portland, Mount Hood, the Columbia River Gorge and Silver Falls State Park. When I travel I frequently hear people from all over the world excited about visiting Portland for the amazing culture, food, and scenic wonder This workshop is all about sharing the special place I live with you. As a bonus, I've timed it for a full moonrise at sunset for us to photograph and I have a fun location picked out for it. You'll want to bring a long lens for that.
Our home base and classroom will be right in the heart of Portland just minutes by Uber or public transportation from the downtown hotels. We’ll use my 12 passenger Mercedes Sprinter Van (El Jefe) to explore locations around Portland, Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge in comfort. An optional fourth day adds a trip through the heart of the Willamette Valley’s farmland to Silver Falls State Park.
From urban cityscapes and blurred city lights to high alpine lakes, rivers and deep forest waterfalls my backyard is teeming with a diverse array of visual stories to tell. This workshop’s focus will be on honing your skills to better tell those stories.
